Very good article but does not discuss the failure of distributors to import supplies. Europeans and asians make primers and powders
equal to anything domestic.

It's getting better. I had word out at 3 gun shops I needed some all came through in the last few weeks. 500 1000 & 1000 which is about a years supply for me.
My gun club put in a bulk order however and it's still a long way off. Now I don't need 5k of large and small but can't cancel without screwing up the other guys.
On the imports we forget how the Russians & Chinese rule international competiton with components they make them selves. No reason imported primers are not just as good as domestic.

One of the factors that is not apparent is military use.
I have a buddy in the manucfacturing biz and I guess Federal and CCI are the main suppliers for military as they have the best quality.
There is supposed to be a 2 year supply in reserve arsenals just in case. The powers that were a couple of years ago forgot
to keep that up and we happen to be in two shooting scrapes so we lost our cheap reserve.
Federal and CCI are commiting all their production to military use so that left Winchester, Remington etc. With them supplying all the ammunition suppliers coupled with the mass buying hysteria we have a shortage. They are catching up, I was able to buy new powder and primers at the local guy store last week.
FYI, Wolf primers are fine. I shoot a little benchrest and many of my fellow shooters are praising them and I see no difference in their groups.
