Can anyone tell me where I might locate some good pictures of the engraving on Peabody Martini rifles that depict frogs in a shooting contest and another one that shows them drinking and smoking big cigars? I have the Single Shot Rifle book but I am looking for better pictures. I have been unable so far to find anything on the internet. I was able to locate the one on a Ballard but prefer the ones on Martini's.

The Grant book,
Single Shot Rifles, Finale
has pictures of both sides of the so-called "Frogmoor" Peabody (not Martini) showing two frogs holding a turtle target, a frog with a spotting scope, and another frog in creedmoor back position taking a shot at the turtle. The design has been repeated on at least two Ballards that I am aware of.

Master Engraver, Ken Hurst has done a really elegant version of that
"frogmoor" motif for one of our members.
If I remember correctly it was featured in one of the SSRJ magazines a few years back, with photos. If you contact our archivist he might have a copy of that back issue available.
but the frogs on it were not
green
, although for enough "
green"
Ken could probably be persuaded to do one with the frogs inlayed woth
green
gold I'll bet
another was done on a really elegant schuetzenized Ruger by another engraver for one of our members.
