If any competitors or visitors are coming from out of the area to attend the 3 day match   (or for a shorter period of the match)  at the Columbia Schuetzenverein this coming weekend near the town of Thurmont, Maryland, and would like to camp nearby, there are many options open to you.

     First, there are camping "hook ups" on the grounds of the Thurmont Conservation and Sportsmans Club property where the shooting range is located.  These camping facilities may be made  available to you by contacting the schuetzenmeister, Mr. Chris Christensen, at E-mail <rgchris@nist.gov> or by telephone at 301-975-3129 in order to inquire about these facilities.

     Second, there are camping facilities nearby Thurmont at the Cunningham Fall State (Md) Park in the Catoctin Mountains.  Contact information may be found at (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

      Thirdly, there are as many as 4 to 5 nationally known franchised camp grounds in and around Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in addition to the Granite Hill Camping Resort where the Bluegrass Festival will be going on that same weekend as the schuetzen match.
