Bob Nicewanner, Jack Odor, Jim Luke, top three spots in the Grand
Agg. During the offhand scope match conditions were rough with wind
gusts to a little over 20 mph.

Don Hanks made a remarkable comeback to win the scope bench event. His first shot was a 23 leading to a first target score of 240.
Then he followed up with back to back 250's, a 249, and a 247.

I've shot with Donn Hanks for last 20 years and I've never met anyone who can call conditions as well as he can and often does! At the ISSA match Donn was shooting a Hoch action with a Ron Smith RKS gain-twist barrel in 32 Miller Short.

Bob

PS Donn will soon be celebrating his 80th birthday!

Thanks for the report on Donn's win!!
The saying in Arizona is that no one beats Hanks off the bench!!!
To add to the Donn Hanks tribute, I was again lucky enough to shoot the Black Powder Target Rifle Nationals with Donn this year and he coached me to the best scores I have ever shot in both the Creedmoor and the Mid-Range matches.
Even at eighty years old it was all I could do to keep up with him for the eight days of competition.
I only wish I could have done as good a job of spotting for him that he did for me.
Thanks Donn and congratulations!!!

Donn Hanks shot a fabulous score considering the wind conditions which made shooting a perfect score difficult never mind shooting two of them back to back. Those old timers keep getting better and better. We can't catch up to them.

Wind in Raton? That's hard to believe.

Congratulations to all the winners.

Good shooting.
