Look at her scores under "ASSRA Match Scores" this forum.

The last report I heard from RKS was that grandpa had the boys making barrels, is Colleen making barrels too?

No Colleen has her own Medical Services business for oilfield sites and doesn't get into cut rifling gain twist barrels. Colleen is a fabulous shooter; took Grand Aggregate; and medals in every event; mostly gold.  Grandpa Ron Smith taught her well. She does cast her own bullets though.

Of course everyone is trying to figure out how to get access to a RKS "Family" barrel. We believe the Canadian RKS barrels are not quite as good as the "Family"barrels but we try to give top shelf Scotch to Ron to export the poorer barrels.  Grin

More than 20 years old and more than $200 per bottle usually opens up discussions. Specific brand not required as long as it is of excellent quality.

When you shoot in the ISSA schuetzen matches it's a good idea to not be too gender sensitive ‘cause you may be beaten by women, and it may not even be close! Kiss

Bob

I have included a pic of Annette Kirby, who is one of many excellent female shooters in the ISSA;

Her offhand scores were most noteworthy.

Colleen shoots with the Alberta Schuetzen Guild at the Spruce Grove Gun Club. She shoots a Miller DeHaas in .32 RKS (.357 Max cut to 1.470" & tappered with .223 die) using a 235 grain Paul Jones mold.
She uses a 36X scope to shoot her offhand scores. Of course Colleen use a "Family" cut rifled gain twist RKS barrel.

Colleen won her Miller action from a previous outstanding shoot at Raton which also lead to her being on the cover of the Precision Shooting magazine.

Yes the girls do very well at this sport. Just ask some of the husbands (Ron Bell or Bruce Kirby) as to who ussually comes up first at the shooting events.

This is a quiz;

Can you name this well known woman schuetzen shooter? Her husband is well known too, but unfortunatly they have both left the range. Cry

I'm not sure what the prize is, but you win! It's Dorothy and Buck Emmert, I think maybe the man next to them is Doc May.

    It sure looks like Doc Mayne--what a guy--my wind flags have some of Doc's bullet holes.   leadball
