I seem to remember an old movie "The Last Hunt" which was about buffalo hunters, and they were killing buffalo with a 74 Sharps, but I haven't seen it for many years.

I saw ( The Last Hunt ) when I was a kid Bob. The shooting scenes were very realistic.  Good movie too.  Smiley

The Missouri Breaks with Marlon Brando as a regulator for the big cattle interests.  He wacks two or three with his Sharps including one sitting in a one holer before he gets his throat cut by Jack Nicholson (sp). 

Kris Kristofferson in the Tracker uses a 1874 Sharps to shoot a couple of bad guys riding at him.  The last one kind of up close and personal.

A '74 Sharps was put to good use in Legends of the Fall to take out a Ford Model T and it's driver.

A Sharps "Big Fifty" was used to destroy a Cadillac in the classic movie Rancho Deluxe. One of my favorites. Slim Pickens was a hoot as the cattle detective.  Grin

Just took my daughter to see "UP" last night (Disney movie about a guy who ties balloons to his house and floats away).  The villain had a '74 Sharps, looked like a pretty accurate representation of it too.  Not exactly what you expect out of a cartoon.

the white buffalo w/ charles bronson,  the last outlaw, dances with wolves, for muzzleloaders try gettysburg, jeremiah johnson, and the mountain men[a very enteraining movie with. c. heston and brian keith] on tcm[turner classic movies] somtimes they ask for movies that you would like to see and the nice thing is there is no commercials so you can copy the movie with no editing. ken

I haven't chimed in here for a while... One that comes to mind - "Geronimo". Actor Wes Sudi disperses the posse with his trusty Sharps '74...

Am sure I saw The Last Hunt, not too long ago. Stared Stewart Granger and a Robert Taylor... I remember the Hunting scenes, well done...

It was the same rifle.  That same Sharps was used by Kris Kristopherson in "The Tracker".   I am having a copy of that rifle built by Shiloh as I type this..... Cheesy
