This may be a bit of heresy but as I have been bitten with the Rem. RB bug I would like to add to my "collection" by getting a Remington Rollimg Block pistol any suggestions of sites that cover this type of single shot pistols?

According to "Remington Rolling Block Firearma by Konrad F. Schreier, jr. " the rolling block pistols were made in .50 rimfire, .50 centerfire, .22 rimfire, .25 and .32 rimfire, .44 russian, 32-20, others on special order. Pictures in his book show both round and half round barrels.
At one time, and maybe still, Uberti offered a Rolling Block pistol in both rimfire and centerfire models, I think the calibers were .22 and .22 mag rimfire, 22 hornet and .357 mag. I have seen one of these at a gun show and it looked nice if I remember right. Just wish I had purchased one when they were available.
I think that one would be nice in either a .32-20 or perhaps a .44 special. I do not think that they would be a lot of fun to shoot in any of the magnum calibers.

It is interesting to note that both Niedner and Pope made custom barrels for them. Perhaps other famous makers made barrels for them also.

You're killin me BP! What a gorgeous #7!!!!!!!

My 1901 Remington pistol has a tang sight mounted similarly  to  the one on your #7 rifle.  Sight is Pope, barrel is Stevens Pope.  Grips (modern) are styled after Roper by Craig Libhart.  The pistol is with Keith Kearcher here in Bend, Oregon,  getting rust blue and new color case hardening.  I'll probably rub a fair amount of the case color off, as I don't like the brand new look on 100 year old pieces.

The tang sight on the #7 is the Lyman with an RS code, which is correct for this roller.

If you get a chance, please post a pic or two of your 1901 when you get it back. The Remington "Army" frame pistol series are very  appealing sidearms.

be careful  with toliet bowel cleaner, i used it just last week again ,and it really will take the blueing off a gun fast .you can make new gun look old real fast .i never used it on a color cased gun .

Here is my Remington 1901 with Stevens Pope .22 barrel and Pope tang sight.  I have not gotten up my nerve to start lightening the color case hardening yet.

Has anyone out there ever seen a Remmy Roller pistol in smoothbore?  One of my club members has one and it seems to chamber 28 gauge.  All frame markings are correct as documented in US Martial Pistols book.  No markings on barrel.  Barrel length is normal for roller pistol.  Grips and forend all original. Front sight looks like mounted at factory.

I'm not sure what single action they might have come from. Removing the grips you can see where they were welded on. The only ID on the grip are serial numbers that I assume were to facilitate the conversions. I would not know how to start to calculate the time and expense it would take today to do such a project.

The ones above are the same ones from the Spring match.

Very neat pistol Terry! I've used Flitz metal polish to tone down case colors. I start with a rag with Flitz on it, and once I see how it works I often have to use Flitz on 0000 steel wool to get it where I wanted. It's not very agressive, so it can gradually work up to the level you want.

I just happened to be standing at a table at a local gun show in NW,OH when the owner of the #4 pair took the case out and put on the table. As soon as he opened the lid I said How much? Took out the cash as an angry mob formed behind me. Only time in my life with good timing:)
