You boys will be proud to know that some of us have earned a real tribute from our Dept of Homeland security--we're now considered
terrorists threats:

We're right in there with returning Iraq war veterans, according to Ms
Napolatano.  Sure makes me proud I wore a uniform for 4 years.
Well, I guess when you have a former community organizer in the White House, you can't afford to take chances with the safety of the nation.

It looks like Homeland Security has closed the link.  Send me an e-mail and I'll send the memo as an attachment.

If Homeland Security is genuinely concerned that anti gun activity by the government might fuel anti government activity, I have a solution! Just immediately CEASE anti gun activity by the government and FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION! Concerns alleviated....

There, now, that wasn't so hard, was it? Wink

Just tried to post the pdf as an attachment but it failed with an error that the file was too large. The pdf is appx 2 MB. Is there another option to post large files?

Hmm...I personally think my state and local elected officials know a lot more about what's best for me and my neighbors than some stuffed shirt in Washington.  Apparently that makes me a right wing extremist.  And here I thought I was a Libertarian.

Tom, PM me your email address and I can send it to you.

I liked the last bit which said.
DHS encourages recipients of this document to report information concerning suspicious or criminal activity.
Very much like the Gestapo of the thirties.
If you don't like your neighbour you know what to do.

The Constitution means nothing to them. It's a "living document" you know.

It is reported that Janet Napolitano "stands by" the report.  We have here a worthy successor to Janet Reno--anybody want to guess where  and when the next Waco or Ruby Ridge will happen?
This govennment is a far greater threat to our freedom than any domestic extremists or foreigh terrorists.

I just read the response to Napolitanos' report by the National Commander of the Anerican Legion, and it was well worded and actually prompted an apology by the Honorable Secretary on CNN this morning. That being said, I would add that those of us who have served took our oath to defend the Constitution much more seriously than most politicians, who offer up little more than lip service. Their allegiance is plainly to a particular political party/agenda, much more so than to the Constitution. Since I retired from the military, when I very seldom took an opportunity to correspond with elected officials, I have become a bit of a firebrand, and write to elected officials on many issues, most of which are not in line with the current libral political fashions.

Regards,
Bill
