Applaud to U.S.Navy Seals

All it tooks was three Single Shots from three dedicated American service men who knew how to shoot accurately.

      "Good Shooting" my friends.

I would like to officially recommend to the Board of Directors of the American Single Shot Association (ASSRA) that they pass a resolution granting recognition of these three American Navy Servicemen, even if they are to remain nameless to the Association, granting a "well done" and a free lifetime membership to each of them in the ASSRA and to all the benefits and privileges appertaining thereto.

     Thank you,

      Can I get a "SECOND"

and then a VOTE on this resolution ?

I fully agree Bob,

With the exception of fully automatic rifles, all other rifles are single shot weapons, it's just that some have a very fast reloading function compared to some others. Lol.

Well done the US Navy Seals. Cool

"One shot, one kill." And I agree about induction and recognition. I learned to shoot from the SEALs FIRST sniper & armorer, my big brother/uncle. He was the armorer for UDT 21, when they were formed into the SEALs in 1962. When the Marine Corps established the first sniper school, he was sent as the Navy rep and spent a few weeks on ops with Carlos. He's still alive and ornery as ever. He went out last week, played a full 18 holes and shot a 79 with 26 putts. Still one of the best. HOOYA!

With all the talk about torture, I am amazed at how the captain's courage, when matched by the precision, patience and field expertise of our snipers, brought out all the flags once again.   I am always proud to be American.  I salute our Seals and the Captain.  It makes me smile.  reindeer

That Seal team & ships involved are based nearby, little bits of information going around on the method used.

I suspected a .50 to shoot through the lifeboats fiberglass. But the word is .308's with 4 snipers first round breaking the glass next ones at the pirates two of which were exposed outside the wheel house.

Some rumor about the White house and FBI too.  Indecision and inter agency conflict from Pennsylvania Ave.  In the end the Navy had operational control and made the decision based on accelerated threat to the Captain. Barrack wanted to talk it out using Negotiators

All of this local coffee shop talk. Who knows if it's correct

Some of it's correct. The part about Pennsylvania ave. As to the rest of it. Remember what I said earlier "1 shot, 1 kill." Bank on that.

My son-in-law is over there with a SEAL team, but we can't email or talk to him about anything recent. Will have to wait until he gets back home again to find out what little can be communicated.
This is his 7th trip over to the region in the last two years, and they usually stay shipboard in a general vicinity, then move to their designated mission via choppers.
Those guys are a lot different than you see on TV. All pretty quiet and unassuming. Most even come off as somewhat shy, but I'm sure that goes away when they need to do their job.

Marlinguy, thank you. Most people want to believe the tv/movie sterotype. They are not. They have a job to do and do it. Quietly and unpretentiously. The only way you would know them is if you see and recognize the Trident. Even those who have rung the bell are greatful for the chance to try. When you talk to your son-in-law, tell him HOOYA from the little brother of one of the UDT-21 and very first Team 2 members. They are the BEST!!

Again, thank you.
