F.J. Zika

This past weekend while at the Tulsa gunshow, I handled two High Wall Schuetzen rifles. Both were built by a smith name of F. J. Zika.

A little searching on the net only turned up some scant info relative to sights. Does anyone know anything about this gunsmith? These rifles were both 32-40s' and exhibited some fine craftmanship. And included with each was a Pope style decapper/capper and a breach seater serial numbered to the respective rifle.

Just curious, thanks.

Regards

Others will chime in with more info, but Frank is a very accomplished machinist, gunsmith and shooter.  He has long been known for his moulds, sights, and selected parts, most recently such things as a speed hammer and special trigger for a Ruger #1 and some critical high-wall parts.  Everything I have ever gotten from him was absolutely top quality in both design and execution.

I would like to know if you know who had them for sale?
Frank is a great craftsman his work is as good as any.
They were made about 1984 with Bollinger barrels and a set of tools.

Laurie

As amazing as it may seem, with 4000 tables, I don't know.

Does Mr. Zika still build these rifles? I do have a high wall action and barrel coming, hopefully in a month. After seeing his work and reading the above may contact him. Anyone have an address?
