The cartridge I have been shooting in a Ruger #1 was designed by Steve Barber- the only person I know who can keep up with leadball in a talking match! It is called the 8 x 40R in 357 max length, as the reamer is the neck area of the 8.15 x 46 R on the max/mag/spl base and all of the lengths can be cut with the same reamer, boring the rim recess.
