It is with great sadness that I inform you of a fellow shooter and  a friend Lowell D. Hamilton, 80, Rapid City, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital Hospice House with Adeline, his loving wife of 60 years, at his side. To many of us who had the pleasure of knowing Lowell he will be missed.

Lowell was truly a formidable competitor and a good friend. I think his greatest joy, however,  was watching Adeline win either one of the 'scope bench matches- RF or CF. 

His CF Pistol record  and his  RF Bench record will probably be around for a long, long time. All his wins and records were accomplished with guns built by his good friend, the late Dean Miller.

He was on the cover of the November '91 PS after winning the first "Schuetzen Pistol" match at Golden, much to the dismay of the Contender group that had proposed the match!

We are truly diminished.
