Schuetzen Rear Sights

Hi - yep, I'm new to this area of the shooting sports, but darn glad to be here...  

Does anyone know of a US source for rear sights for Schuetzen rifles?  I've pulled up Bill Loos' name on these forums - is he still around and do you have current contact info for him?  The only email I could find appeared to be several years old.  

Thanks for any leads...

You must be taling about German Schuetzen rifles as there are lots of places to buy American sights. Someone offered some German sights for sale a while back on this site so maybe they will chime in.

If you are talking about newer Schuetzen rifles; some shooters install a 3/8 inch base and use Anschutz or Gehmann sights. There are a number of suppliers of these sights. Or some shooters use the old Olympic or International Redfield sights; but it takes a while to find them at gunshows or on E-Bay.

What I'm really looking for is a replacement (old, used) sight for a German gun - the kind with the square shank...  Thanks.

Liberty, scroll down to collecting single shots. and look for subject title German sights. There is a post for what you are looking for there brand new manufacture for $314.00. That is not a bad price. Just a little high but these are not the kind of sight you can just decide to buy and go get one. You first have to find one for sale and then see just how much the guy really wants to sell it. HTH, Regards, FITZ. Smiley

                 This fellow was selling the German Aydt rear sight a few months ago for about $350--we were told they were the equal of an original sight, but beware these German sights do not interchange from rifle to rifle and then there are several different Germqn rifles.  Try to determine the maker of the rifle before you go much father--good luck----leadball

I have one of the sights Leadball described, the on sold through Paulsguns.  It is an excellent sight in every way, but it only fits rifles that have a square hole milled in the upper tang and a base on which to mount the sight.

I have a AYDT rifle its 8.15x46 im looking for rear sights it has a square hole 6MMif anyone knows where i can find one please e mail me @bull101@att.net
