Had picked this one up recently, top looks almost like a winchester vernier while bottom is design to fit marlin/ballard spacing? Mongrel?  I did see this base (or at lease one very very similar in dutchers book, but at the moment can't recall page number..seemed to be only one in whole book (will update later thinking like pg 270).  Any input appreciated.

Looks like a Winchester sight with non Win base to me.  Smiley   Maynard base?   Undecided    If you dont have a Maynard at least you have an excuse to get one now. How does the staff index? Is there a spring in the base? If the base doesnt fit buy another rifle. Good luck!

Your sight appears to be a good repro Winchester sight with a shortened base. This makes a lot more sense than using the tang screw to hold the sight on as Winchester did. R.B.
