For entry on the Raffle Rifle, copy the form inside the dust cover of The ASSRA SSRJ or contact a Director and forms can be sent to those that do not get a SSRJ.

$10.00 per entry.

Beautiful engraving on that rifle. I like the wood too. If anyone needs a copy of the entry form they can contact me. As always your Directors are available to help with any membership problems.

Now that looks like a rifle worth buying tickets for. If you don't have to be a member to win why cant the guys that run this web site do the right thing and put a copy of the form on this site so that anyone can print it out and make as many copies as they need. Come on guys, this is very easy to do, it's not rocket science.

I for one would think that when the gun is finished it would be worth at least 8 or 10 entries from most anyone interested.  Why does ASSRA seem to make guys jump through hoops and make it so hard to get an entry form for something that benefits ASSRA, ???.

Quarter_Bore things do not seem to work that way. 40_Rod said if we was haveing problems getting our Journal to contact Kieth Foster. Guess what still no Journal or even a answer to my email to him.?? But I was not suprised as it seems as everone. EXCEPT Rimfiire, the moderators,Fallingblock and Rudi are always too busy. And heck it is only importand to us and not them.IMO.
I am not trying to create a argument just tell you like it is. Whitey

Set Trigger that sounds like a good Idea. Then even the no paying members could get a copy with no mailing cost involved by ASSRA. Whitey

I will try to put up a copy on the web site but I am not that computer savy.

Whitey-Yes, you are trying to start an arguement. Could it be that Keith is on vacation? How long since you e-mailed him? If you send me an address and let me know which Journal you are missing I will try to send you one. We (the Directors) are doing our best. Why must you continue to snipe at us? We are mere humans and have our lives to lead outide the ASSRA. We have no reason to offend the membership.

Quarter_Bore I am not trying to start a argument with you.!! But being honest I do get upset with people telling us if you have a problem of any kind don't post it here. Send a Email to the Person. Or the BOD example the Member who told another good member to get F____ed (which by the way cost us another good member) I sent a email to SEVERAL  BOD's about this problem guess what 1 ans from a BOD Rimfire. And Edd (moderator)
I do appericate the efforts many of you perform for the ASSRA. But understand when you tell us to do things a certain way and we do it your way with no results. It is not sniping to tell you it does not work.
Imay be the only one posting this BUT many other members have had the same problem. But just take it as thats the way it is. And I have come to that same conclusion. Whitey

Whitey,
I don't see it that way. I think all the directors are working within their time limits and trying to do their best. I have this on good authority since I witness it first hand. You're problems are being dealt with. As I suspected there are good reasons if there was a delay in getting you an e-mail. I have offered to send you the missing issue of the Journal (my own) with me paying the postage, if you can figure out which one is missing and just let me know. I can't make it any clearer then that.
Why do so many posts by you seem so negative?

To All:
On another issue. All raffle tickets must be the same size to make the drawing fair. The actual ticket is 5" by 7"on regular letter weight paper.

Quarter Bore thanks for the offer but 40_Rod is takeing care of the problem. He explained the problem.Thats all I ever wanted was my journal or a explaintion of why not.
AS to always being negative  I am not. but if I feel something is wrong I say so or ask for a reason why.Is that being unamerican or do I not have that right being a member of the ASSRA.
Now to show you I am not a negetaive person all the time Smiley Lets end this conversation before it grows into something that is not good for anybody. Or the ASSRA. Whitey

"I am having difficulty. My file is too big and I can't remember how to compress them. I'm working on it."

Sorry if maybe I was out of line suggesting that the form be put on the site for all to copy. It just seemed to be the simple thing to do. I did not mean that someone on the bod should do it.

I see that you are a director, and as a director I guess it's your job to direct. I also see that ASSRA has a webmeister. I would think that it would be a directors job to direct or maybe ask the webmeister ( being that ASSRA has one ) to put the form up on the site for all to use,  that would take the burden off a bod member not knowing how to do the computer thing.

The 2009 Raffle Rifle is a Winchester Low Wall .22 LR Schuetzen rifle inspired by a rifle owned by Gary Quinlan and found on pages 147 and 148 of The Winchester Single Shot a history and analysis by John Campbell. I will try to name everyone who has participated in the project.

The gunsmith who is overseeing the project and has done the most work on the gun is Glenn Fewless. Glenn took the original action and got it straightened out holes filled and polished, fit the double set triggers, fit and chambered the barrel and has generally created a masterpiece from a collection of parts.

The stock started life from a blank provided by Ray & Cathy Richter known as Quaking Aspens on eBay. The blank was patterned by Ballard Arms, then fit, finished and checkered by master stock maker Doug Mann

Mike Sawmiller did the full coverage engraving.

Charlie Shaeff donated the receiver. The block was donated by Frank Zika. Ballard Rifles donated all the other parts.

The barrel was made and donated by Ron Smith of RKS. Ron configured the barrel in a Pope .22 style.

CPA donated the palm rest and the butt plate.

Frank Zika donated one of his Farrow style rear sights and a front sight to match.

I hope that I haven’t forgotten anybody. This is the second raffle rifle that I wrangled and by far the most complicated. I hate to pick up the phone and beg for parts and services from hard working folks, and I am still stunned by generosity that all of the artists and craftsmen who agreed help in this project. I can only say thank you. You can show your appreciation to them by proving that their time and effort was worth it by buying a ticket or two or three. Somebody is going to win this rifle but it ain’t going to be you if you don’t enter.

40 Rod
