Question on Scope mount?

Print Post
I go over to the Home Gunsmithing forums some times and ask and read. A couple days ago, i posted a drawing of a scope mount and ask if anyone had ever made any of those. Ine reply, the person said he made one one time, he said it was to much trouble to make them, when you can buy them for $5.00-$10.00 I am posting the drawing, If they can be bought for that maybe someone on here can tell me where to get some!

There have been several on e-bay. They go for about $150 a set as I recall.

Have you looked in a copy of the SSR Journal at the ads?  If yes, find the one from Steve Earle.  I think he can help you.  Cool

Froggie

PS  I'm assuming you are asking about the blocks that screw to the barrel, not the ring mount itself... that really is expensive!  Shocked

I was wondering where he could find them for $10.00. Because if you buy a Old Lyman Target Master scope, they run from $300.00-$600.00.
Thanks ACE

The bases from Steve Earle are $10 each plus shipping, without screws.  I've got some on order right now, waiting...and waiting...and waiting.   Sad

Rings are another matter entirely.  Unertl, Lyman, and other brand three point rings go fairly high, earlier four point rings are not so dear, but can have issues with adjustment slip/stick.

Sorry ACE
