Traditional scope sight.

I have been looking, with some envy, at photos of traditional looking scopes. Are these reproduction/new scopes? If so, could someone suggest where I could get more info on them?
When I was about 18, I was given a Lyman with the adjustable mount, but I got rid of it in favour of a Tasco 4x40... oh dear, am I still welcome here (keeping in mind I have done over 40 years pennance for that sinful act)?
Gaz.

Gaz here is the Hi-Lux's site (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) I have two of these scopes in 3x on low power SS rifles and am very pleased with them. These have been discussed at length here is one thread, {   (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) } just do a search using Malcolm and you should find most of them. Here is a company that usually has the best price! these scopes in the shorter versions come in 3x & 6x, they also make the full barrel length scopes. { (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) }
As said in the other posts, the scopes are great, mounts are hunting quality!

In my case when i was a young fool I made an even bigger mistake 40+ years ago with a Unertl scope that I do not like to talk about even to this day Cry, join the club!

Good Luck finding what you want, MIKE-T Smiley

Good Evening:  The new long scopes are pretty neat, but im not so humble opinion, they just don't have the charm of the older scopes.  The Feckers and Unertl are Primo, and there is nothing wrong with the Lyman offerings.

Fecker made a charming line of scopes in their Small Game series.  I believe there were fifteen variants, what with length, power and reticle.
Collect them all!

These old scopes are not sealed, nor nitrogen filled, but they sure dress up a rifle.  I put them on small action martinis, and Stevens 44s.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I'm with Ed on this. I personally don't care for modern scopes, as I enjoy the old ones for functionality and history.

But some newer scopes can be made to look old, even if they really aren't!

Thanks very much for your help guys. I'm just sort of looking at the moment.
Mike T, thanks for the links and your reassurance. I needed that!
Thanks for the eye candy Marlin guy, that's exactly what I was thinking of. If I can't find them myself, I like to see that these old toys are being cared for by people like yourself.
Thanks,
Gaz.

Thanks for the offer Bill, At this stage, I am just idly looking. What I am thinking of is something to go on my .22 rolling block. The ammount of "wealth contraction" that I have recently experienced has slowed down my toy buying habit  Cry
