Just a short note on price compairson, and hoping I don't anger anyone.

I just bought a Pedersoli 'John Bodine' Rolling Block Rifle catalog 
#S-821 for $1,300.00.
Cherry's offers the same exact rifle at $1,825.00, and Dixie at $1,700.00.
Looking at the price you see that is $535.00 / $400.00 HIGHER at Cherry's & Dixie. Even if you consider the .0765017% extortion, sometimes referred to as TAX, it is STILL $427.90 / $300.55 cheaper at Cabela's.

NO, I do not work for, or in any way what-so-ever connected with Cabela's. Just very satisfied with their pricing.

Can't say about Dixie but rumor has it that outfits like Cherry's get selected rifles and then do some additional work on them which might in part account for the higher prices. Rumor is the operative word here, and I can't speak from personal experience.

I've heard the same thing. I had a problem with a Uberti high wall and it was replaced with a hand picked rifle from their customer service dept. so they arn't all the same. I would think the high volume dealers would get the better ones. I think the same thing exists among all mfg. Thats why some are better than others. The main difference is probably in the wood. I bought a long range target model from Cabelas when they were around $1000. Its pretty plain. I refinished the stock. Took the sharp edges off. Im not sure why Cabelas sells at a lower price. If u have a connection there ask them, and solve the mystery for us.

How about the possibility. One needs more profit to stay in bussiness then the other.Plus some operations deal on less profit but larger volume to make up the diffrence. And a lot of volume sellers get a bigger discount from the Manf. Whitey

Cherry's is near me and I know them well.  Nice guys, a two man operation. I have always found them to price fair but they are not discounters and don't have economy of scale like somebody like Cabellas does. They stand behind guns sold 100 % which is worth a lot to me.   

Main biz for Cherry's has always been commeratives and Colt SAA's

They are large Internet sellers of used guns and the ones I always use when selling on consignment.
