I bought the 3mm angle cut rod media from Dave Mauer years ago.  Cleans my 32-40 Everlasting cases very well...primer pockets and all.  The 3mm does not jam in a 32-40 case like the larger 45-70 media does.

Good luck.

I have been using porous ceramic granules for the past four years as my cleaner of choice when the cases are real dirty or to remove black powder fouling in my Lyman 1200 and RCBS unit with no problems to the tumblers. I have access to these montmorillonite granules ranging in size from 2.15 mm down as small 0.20 mm. The smaller sizes work well because they go through the flash hole.
I tumble the cases until I clean off the heavy dirt [maybe 15 minutes] and finish with corn cob for the final polishing. At the Labor Day match I gave samples to one off the Michigan black powder cartridge shooters to try.
The materials are light weight [about 34 pounds per cubic foot].

40016X  Is it possible to get montmorillonite granules comercially in less than industrial quantities?

bnice I think the problem with most vibratory 'tumblers' is that the ceramic will erode the lightweight plastic tubs and the weight of the media puts a big strain on the motor.

You can puchase fifty a fifty pound bag of Pros Choice Sports Turf product from your a local dealer. Rapid Dry is the finer agrregate size material [about .6 mm] or Pros Choice Select [about 1.85 mm]. If you watch a major league game these are the same ones used on the skinned infield areas. The cost is under twenty dollars and if you don't like it for cleaning you can always blend it into you lawn like they do on baseball or sports fields.
