Has anyone had any problems with the Swedish R.R.B

I have located a Swedish Remington Rolling Block that has a new 45-70 barrel, but the block needs to be changed to centerfire (no problems there) but it doesn't state what # the action is!
So If any of you folks have any input on the S.R.R.B. I would be great full for the advice1

Thanks

Ace,
Rolling Blocks (American, Swedish, or Danish, Egyptian, etc) were never marked with a number size. If it's one of the old military actions, they are usually a #1 action. If it's a civilian action, they run more in the #1 1/2-#2 size.
If you can post actual dimnsions,I can give you an idea of which frame size it is.-Vall

Marlin Guy, I want to thank you for getting back with me so quick, I am looking at this on the net and have not heard back from the person. money seems to be tight everywhere, but there some that don't need the money. I wished it didn't have a barrel one in, I wanted to design my own barre, but if I cannot locate another one, if i can deal with this person, I might end up with it. I have posted on the FS/or Buy looking for a action, but if you run acrossed something you do not want yourself, I would be great full for and lends.
Thanks again

If it's a Swede Roller, but has Remington rollstamps on the top tang, I guarantee it's a #1 size action. If it doesn't have the Rem. markings, then I'd need to look at the auction to determine if it's the large frame.
I would hope it's a #1 if it's chambered in .45-70, but I've seen a few of the smaller commercial Swedes rebarreled in .45-70 also.

There's a lot of good info on those two sites!

The Swede rolling blocks are as good as any, when loaded to pressures appropriate to their age and design.

I would not expect a Remington smokeless action to last very long when loaded with a modern high pressure round, and the Swede 8mm guns, as was that one, were said to be quite a fair bit better than the Remingtons, from a metallurgy perspective.

Like any other action, especially an old action, a bit of brainpower is expected to be used. The catastrophic failures that have been documented, that I have seen (3 IIRC) could all be traced back to ignorance or stupidity, rather than to design failure.

Workmanship and condition. That covers the most of it.

Cheers
