I thought the purpose of this site is to exchange information between people of similiar interests. All singleshot rifles old and new. Is competing a requirement? I did not think membership in the ASSRA was a requirement to participate. What is the purpose of this site? Is it a function of the ASSRA?  Doesn't the ASSRA have its own site. Just curious.

  To add to what Paul said...... No you don't have to compete (shoot in ASSRA Competitions using their rules). All you need is an interest in SS's and not necessarily ones made before WWII. You don't even necessarily have to be shooting one of the "old" cal.'s, as you will see from some of the other threads.

  Of course most of the threads on here will pertain to the old SS's and their calibers since that is what most of the participants on here use or are interested in.

  So sit back, read the threads ask the questions you want to, and enjoy yourself.
