Freund's striker is US Patent #211,278. Dated Jan. 28, 1879, so a search of US Patent Office will give you drawings and info.
It is also pictured in Dutcher's book on Ballard history page 364.
On page 363 of Dutcher's book he shows a photo of the Worn striker conversion opened up, so the internals can be viewed.-Vall

The freund patent is # 211728 and is an internal hammer, not a striker.
A jpg copy is attached.

Mr. Freund was pretty fond of filling the insides of guns with little levers and springs, wasn't he? Grin

This drawing looks positively simple, compared to the conglomeration of little bitty, delicate parts that went into his lever conversion of a rolling block action! Shocked

Cheers

A reply to JD and Frog,

JD, I agree with what you say about the trade commodity, it is more than the item. Some day I hope to build a complete gun on the low wall reciever I traded you. I will remember the events that got me there and the people who helped me. I remeber that kind of thing everytime I open my shooting box. I have traded, bought from a fellow ASSRA member, or made nearly everything in it.

This takes me to the Frog,
Have also traded much with you, (any word on BB for the above mentioned wall?).  Grin

I agree in wishing someone would clue us all in on the secret! Unfortunaltely, the services I have to barter are little needed among the machinists and smiths! EVen if they were needed, it is hard to do install work over the internet! Sad

I would be lost with out this forum and all of you people! Cry
