Dave,
You also might try a PM to Singleshot on here and see if he's still making them. I've got one that I think is pretty good.

Another plug for singleshot (Willis Gregory.) I have or have had 3 different rifles using his breech seaters, a high-wall Winchester, a Ruger #1, and a Peregrine. I still have the first and last, and the Ruger went with the rifle. I feel like they're all I could ever ask for.

Dave,
I shot some pictures for the article I did on breech seating (in the Journal) about 3-4 years ago, but they are somewhere in the bowels of my hard drive, and I can't find them this morning. I'll try and get the camera out and shoot a couple of pix later this morning.

Thanks, Willis. I can't seem to locate my digital camera in the van. You KNOW what my van looks like!
Dave, to add a bit to the picture, each of singleshot's (Willis') breech seaters is designed for a specific action type, and as such, their appearance will differ slightly, but the overall mechanism is as shown. They work quite efficiently in the rifle for which they are designed and offer great mechanical advantage when seating oversized bullets or using straight bullets in a standard throated chamber. I highly recommend them and have nothing but good experiences with the three different ones I have used extensively on Peregrine, Ruger, and Winchester actions.

Schuetzendave,
I believe you will find that the answers to all of your questions are positive in the direction you desire.
I can place my bullets into the case of the seater all the way down until the nose is flush if I wish.
I believe he is using brass ends on the push rods, and am sure he will if asked.
There is plenty of adjustment for seating depth... 250 thousandths (that's a quarter inch to the rest of us) is a pretty long throw, but I'm pretty sure all of mine would do it if for some odd reason I needed to.
The push rods are threaded, so adjustment is quick and sure.
Discclaimer: I have no financial connection with Willis, he is just a good friend who has provided me with several good breech seaters for a variety of actions.
