I am trying to find the Ballard #7 long range in a gun value guide. I have a 23rd edition of the Blue Book ,but the old Ballards are not included ....or at least where I could find them.  Also, my other sources were of no help. Thanks,45/70SS

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Ballards have never been in the Bluebook, and from what I've found out in contacting them, they never will be. Too many variants that looks too similar, so they've just avoided them totally.
You'll need a copy of Flayderman's Gudie to Antique Firearms in order to find pricing on the #7 Ballard.

Flayderman's 9th edition (2007) gives values of VG=$4,250 & Exc=$8,500 for Ballard #7 Long Range not "A-1" , not engraved.

Thanks,Waterman and Marlinguy. That is the info that I was seeking. The gun is a #7 Longrange in 44/100 as best as I can tell, and is in the price range quoted above. The receiver is lacking most of it's finish, the forearm is good,but the buttstock has a few "Character " marks. Thanks for the info,45/70 SS
