Anyone have a "Hands On" on a Pedersoli 'Wall yet?

Well, I was ready to buy one 4 months ago... But even though I've spend my gun money, I'm still real interested in the Pedersoli High Wall (in .38-55 in particular...)..

Anyone know if they've actually hit the beaches yet, and getting into anyones hands?

They get rid of that goofy combination of single-set-trigger and double-set-guard?
I'd take a single-set with single-guard, or double-set with double-guard, but that combo just looked wrong.

Maybe I should have just bought a Uberti, but I didn't like the reports of barrel/twist/bore dimensions..
Now I won't be buying either one for months yet.

Enquiring minds, and all...

No one?

Hmm...  That Uberti is looking better and better.  Maybe.

Paul, Buy the Uberti, then send it off to Crossno and have him put either a Green Mountain or Badger barrel on it with a match chamber.  Mori (humboldt)

Hey Mori!

Yeah.. I'm kinda leaning towards that very plan...
Especially since it would probably still come in cheaper than the rumored retail price of the Pedersoli 'Wall.

Still be nice to know for SURE the what's what of the Pedsoli High Walls before I drop the money.

(Of course, if I could exercise just a little financial self control, I'd have enough to just order a Ballard High Wall and be done with it... but alas, too many interesting shiny objects, too little cash!)

Hope you're doing well!

Paul, If you check out what you get as "standard" with a Meacham hi wall, you will find that if you had ordered a Ballard with the pistol grip, double set triggers and the neat undr lever- the Meacham would be less. Pay a deposit to Meacham, save yur monet for about a year, then you will have a very fine rifle that not shoots very well, but looks just like the one that belongs to you know who! Mori

Or you could opt for a CSharps highwall.  I watched and spotted for one shoot extremely well this weekend.

Either that or a used-market wall of original or other flavor.

Brent;

I've looked at several C. Sharps High Walls, and for some reason, they just don't do it for me, visually.  They lack a certain something.

My thinking is to go with a "cheaper" one to get shooting now, and (as Mori suggests), save money and get a firm idea what I want from Ballard/Meacham (and decide which one), for later.

I wouldn't feel as bad modifying a Uberti or Pedersoli to suit me, or to suit assorted "wild hairs" I might get, as I would a Meacham like a certain local shooter has.
There are some places that taking a rasp or file to a meacham like "that one" would get you executed on the spot... not so much as a drum-head trial.  Smiley
