unetl scopes

I went to the Tulsa show this month and I saw a scope on the table for sale and I believe it was a McDonald. It looked like a unertl but the rings were gold. Has anyone used one of these or heard of one? The asking price was comparable with a unertl but the fellow told me it was a recent manufactured scope.

could it have been a MITCHELL scope? They were recent mfg and excellent quality. Too bad they are no longer made. Most I have seen have gold looking rings with micrometer heads for adjustments.

You are right it was a Mitchell, but I thought the fellow told me that they were still being produced. Hopefully someone will realize the market for this type of scope that doesn't cost a fortune.

George Mitchell retired from making scopes ove a year ago.
He made a little over 300 of them.  I believe a recent sale on Ebay of one of his scopes went for around $2300.  It sounds like you passed up a bargain - you all have a good day now - the rimfire - cdpersons
