Hi All !!!

Is there anybody out there that has experience with  “Gain-Twist” rifling ???

I know that the old masters developed it but I have never heard any reports on the performance …

                     Thanks for the info on RKS barrels-I have a new RKS blank .321 about ready to install on my CPA bench rifle, this rifle has shot very good with a Douglas barrel for fifteen years --by years end I'll know if the RKS will shoot better than the Douglas.  This RKS has eight grooves is that standard for the .321 stainless barrels--the breechend is stamped .321   23X12 twist finish at 26--it sure is pretty on the inside--now if I could just get someone to dope the wind --see that nice target above--I'm going to set beside KAF, when he shoots I shoot.  leadball
P.S.   do you have any good info on installing the barrel

Also wanted to let you know that Bobby Hoyt is a barrel maker located in Fairfield, Pennsylvania, which is a small village located 8 mile west of the square in Gettysburg.  Bobby does only single point cut rifling and will do a gain twist at your request.  Also,  he will do a choke bore where appropriate.  He's been is the trade for at least 20 some years.

What do these two men have in common? They both use RKS Ltd. gain-twist barrels.

Could you fine gentlemen please provide the full names and contact information for both Ron Smith and Bobby Hoyt, and the trade name
of their respective businesses ?

Also, How does one decide what beginning and end twist is best suited for a particular caliber and bullet ?
