Yes I've caught the vision.  I can see it all now, Harry M. Pope voted the MVP by the coaches.

Superbowl?  Is that THIS weekend or next?
Huh

I'd much sooner participate in something than WATCH something!

Shooting was the equal of the Super Bowl in the late 1800's. It drew huge crowds, and big prize money. Sounds familiar to today's Super Bowl, doesn't it?

I can't do so , tomorrow (this past year has been very complicated, with elder care issues using up my shooting time), but for many years, I've found that Super Bowl Sunday is one of the best days of the year for going to my local ranges.  The event (Super Bowl) especially seems to  appeal to the Practioneers of 7.62 X 39 Spray and Pray, so the ranges are less cowded or frantic.  Now, don't anyone get on me about lookin' down my nose at other shooters, I've had an AK and an SKS in my past, and still shoot black plastic Mattel guns, but the older and crankier I get, the slower I shoot, and I've really come to appreciate single shots  Wink ...

Gentlemen, to repopularize shooting we must start running up and down the range with an inflated animal skin, speak in grunts, and  wear huge gold chains around our necks.

OK, I'll grit my teeth and wear the gold chain, but you're first on running up and down the range with the inflated animal skin.

I'll see if we can get a wave going the next time I'm at the range!

One Sunday long ago, I believe it was Rose Bowl on January 1st, my father and I went duck hunting down at the Salton Sea, when most hunters were watching the game on TV,  and had a whole flock of honkers set down on top of us, I think you can figure out the rest.
