I just bought a sporting rifle by J C Lord Birmingham. It's a sporting version of the old 577 Snider swivle breech and in mint condition / perfect working order. With a Ser No. 004. I would expect it to be manufacture around 1868.

Bore is 5 groove as opposed to the military ones I've seen that have only 3 grooves.

Pics to follow after completing the background check!!!

What prices do they sell for in USA. I paid $AU975 for rifle, 480gn Minnie mould, CH4D 3 die set and 70 new cases!  Grin

IMA has been getting $995 for them here. I don't know what the exchange rate is but I'd guess you did good! I got the price here,

I checked IMA and it appears they're sold out now. Not listed anyway.

Took a while to get all the police permits but well worth the wait! I've now got the rifle "in possession", cases, dies & a bullet mould!  Cool Cool
