If memory serves me, yeh right, I think I have read it is estimated aroung 16,000. Mine is serial numbered in the 12,000 range. Also, like everything Stevens, there were slight changes throughout production with little rhyme or reason. I sure do like the darn things!

I saw a figure of 13,000 recently. No way to know for sure since the company records were somehow destroyed afer WWI. Realy neat guns. Never see any here in Southern Illinois. Picked up one in Kansas City Mo. two weeks ago and one in Louiville Ky. last summer. Would like to find some more. They are definately scarce.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I've heard anywhere from 12k-14k. Not sure what serial number they started with either. All that I've seen had 4 digit serial numbers, so I've always guessed they started at a 3 digit number.
