Ethics question for High Wall fans

Would you buy a Import marked English .22 short high wall winder musket to break down for the action ?

Rifle is OK except for the Federally required recent import marks.  Price is right for the Action alone.  I would like to have a rimfire offhand highwall Schuetzen and assume this action would be right on.

Boats,

My advice would be to go for it.  Keep the original parts should you wish to return it to original configuration and build whatever you want.  Yes, that's exactly what I have done (in both directions!)  See ya soon.

If the dollars work for you then the only question is can you live with the trigger (or change it at a price you find reasonable).  For an offhand rifle, I might find it lacking.  Esp. if it is a straight grip (also changeable).

I saw that same rifle and was thinking of the same thing. But I've decided to pass. Go for it, the price is right IMO.

Well somebody thought it was a good deal since it's already on hold.  Dealer is a good friend of mine and has my name as fall back.

He is the importer of record and marked the gun on the barrel expecting someone would break it, This leaves the action unmarked.

It may work who knows.  Brent your comments well noted.  Actually I would rather have  a low wall for the project but this would do or be good trading stock for a low wall

I would want it to have a good extractor kicker spring, esp. since it is a highwall, and I would not be planning to use a scope with it.  Too little room in there to operate.
