Parker Hale #7 Sight

Just acquired a martini 12/15 and love it! The only problem is that the lines on the sight are so hard to see with my old eyes. You can tell at one time they were probably filled with something white to make them more visible. Can anyone tell me how to restore these lines? Thanks,

Fill'm with white crayon and then wipe off the excess. Works pretty good....

The original PH#7 sights were completely blued without any enhancement of the lines. They were deeply incised and normally not difficult to read except in poor light.

However rubbing white chalk into the lines helps make them more visible unless someone has polished down the face of the scale and reduced the line depth at some point. If that is the case the lines may need to be restruck.

I have used white crayon, white model paint, white acrylic paint and white wood filler sticks all with equal success and no harm to the sight.
