Just got some pictures in from Joe of the San Diego club on the left coast.  " Here's the pics of Mike Christopher of Phoenix, Az.and his 250, shot at 100 yds.  Mike used a BSA International Mk2 with a Lilja barrel and Federal Gold Medal Ultra Match ammo.  Sights were a 2 inch Unertl at 20X.  Conditions were early morning calm, about 60 degrees F.  Match was shoulder to shoulder at the ISSA Regional held on April 21, 2007 at San Diego, Ca."

looks like I can only post 1 pic per message so I'll do it in two

Mike was shooting in some pretty tough company.  He backed up that 250 with a 245-6 and came in 3rd in the BR match.  Second was Donn Hanks...249-9 and 247-8, and 1st was Russ Weber with a 248-8 and a 249-9!  Whew!!!

DW - I don't want to rain on anyones parade because it is a nice looking target but it looks like to me as best as I can see the picture that would only score a 247-7C by ASSRA Etna Green rules - it sure looks as if 3 of those shots are only breaking the 25 ring not more than half in.  I apologize if I am wrong.  Nice target Mike - u all have a good day now - the rimfire

I don't know what the diff. is between the ASSRA and ISSA rules and targets is.  I think part of it is that the target is not completely flat to the camera and the angle creates a little distortion.   In any case it is a 250 10c by their standards and damn fine smallbore shooting.  I think the best we've gotten so far at EG is a 247 or 248.
Besides all that 100yard stuff is just practice for the 200 right? Wink Wink Wink

I know that, or as best I remember it, in ASSRA scoring is done to the center of the hole in bench shooting and to the leaded edge with offhand.  Wonder is ISSA is the same?  I'm assuming the rings are the same for both groups. Huh

To all the ISSA scores .22 to the leaded edge on both bench and off hand.
ASSRA scores ceneter for .22 bench and leaded edge for off hand.
Looks to mee like it was scored by ISSA rules.

Fallingblock is correct... was scored to ISSA rules/leaded edge.
Rings are the same.  Reasoning I've been given is that there is no caliber advantage when all are shooting .22RF

I think that ASSRA simply applied the same scoring rule to the 22rf  as they used for the big bores.  Probably to avoid confusion and "debate".    I'll probably never shoot a target where it becomes a significant issue anyway.   To me 250s of any kind and one-ragged-hole group targets are nothing short of magic to be dreamed of..
