Husqvarna Roller

I have a Husqvarna rolling block (really just an action) that I am going to sell.  It was sold to me w/o any FFL for the transfer which was legal according to the seller, but I have my doubts.  Does anyone know about the age range for Huskies?  Are any of them younger than 1898?

Thanks,
Brent

Many. All I've seen that hadn't been refinished had a date on one side or the other, but there are others on this site who know far more about these than I do. Regards, Joe

Clarification. All I've seen that haven't been refinished had a date on one side or the other, and all the dates I've seen have been pre-1898. IOW, of the few I've seen, all have been dated prior to 1898. I do believe I've heard, however, that some were indeed made later. Good luck, Joe

Joe, I was thinking that that date was more like a model number like 1885 Winchester for example.  If that's the date, then it's easy.

From what I've been able to find out the Scandinavian Rolling Blocks are the 1867/68 model mostly for the rimfire 12.17x42 or centerfire 12.17x44 cartridges.  They were made by Remington, Carl Gustaf, and Husqvarna.  Many were converted starting in 1889 to the 8x58r centerfire cartridge with a new block and hammer and reheat treated receivers.  I don't think any conversions were accomplished after the magic date of 1898.  It should be a very good action for a rifle.

Thanks guys.  I think I'm pretty safe then to sell it and ship it to anyone directly.  It is a decent action to be sure and seems to have a very nice trigger relative to what I hear about most Rem #1 actions.
