trigger guard palm rests

Say, someone was just asking me about where I got the palm rest that I use on my low wall. It clamps onto the trigger bow (requires no modification to the rifle).

Mine was made by two friends.  One who made the metal fittings and one who turned the ironwood into a ball.  It is really perfect for my purposes and would be hard to improve upon in my opinion.

However, if a guy wanted one and didn't have a couple of talented friends to do this, where would he turn?

Does anyone make such a rest commercially or sell at least the fittings for the clamping?

Thanks,
Brent

We have a couple in our club in San Diego and they were made by the shooters.                   Regards Roger

Allen,
I will post a link to a picture rather that the picture itself.  The picture is large and I never get them to turn out satisfactorly when I shrink them down.

The picture was taken before the action was polished by me and case colored by Classic Guns, and before it was checkered by Doug Mann.  One of these days, I need to update this photo.

Brent,

I bet DWS would welcome a do-it-yourself article for the Journal about making that palm rest!  Just a simple set of drawings and the same photo (or perhaps one of the diassembled unit) would be a welcome addition...I know this because I want at least one or two for amphibian usage!!  Wink

I pretty sure he would too!

We published a little article an issue or two back about a similar rest, but it was on a vintage rest--turn of the previous century I think.  I believe it was on the Mossbacher Rest or something like that--think it was toward the back of that issue,  I'm away from home and my files of back issues

These were made commercially at the turn of the century, and I have one if you are curious about what it looks like.
