Trying to find some further information on the No. 5 rolling blocks (see another post here), I picked up a book on military rolling blocks. It mentions rolling blocks in 8mm Lebel are not uncommon. Indeed, I found one for sale on the web.

Anyone here shooting one of these? This is one fat cartridge and the operating pressure could not have been too low, probably about 35 Rem levels. I'm curious what sort of case life one gets with one of these.

Ulterior motive: I estimate the 8mm Lebel would stress an action about the same as some of the older British African cartridges. Now that would be something different...
