and some perform like an R4 Avanti.  in fact most will, and some a whole lot better than that!
I live about 15 miles from South Bend IN and I can tell tell you that when the Studebakers Drivers Club has their "Homecoming" here every few years there is some fantastic big buck iron to be seen including some really great old pickup trucks,  though in my personal opinion the whole "Lark" series was as ugly as a boil on a warthogs butt.

Man, you guys are pretty rough on those Studebakers....

Doubled, can you imagine what a Highwall would look like with that sort of effort and skill devoted to the bluing, engraving and checkering?

A fine Martini without a case is like a collector Studebaker without a garage. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Somewhere on the web you had posted pictures of the innards of the set trigger martini. Do you remember where? If not, are the pictures available for you to send them to me? I'd forgotten about them till you posted this. I'd like to add them to my collection of martini data. You should have my email addy listed somewhere in our exchanges.

It is actually quite simple - even I can take it down and - most importantly - reassemble it! Wink

The top thingy with the extension is a double spring, and the one which powers the set trigger.  Mind you I still haven't really figured out how it works, except that it works...  It is a a quite compact package though.

Does anyone do this type of installation on standard martini triggers?

Not that I know of - double-trigger Martini's, when they can be found, are usually of the Swiss style, and external.  This one is internal in a small action, and is most certainly not drop-in.

Any chance of another picture showing a side view of that double spring.  That's a real interesting setup. Is the extension arm on the double spring integral to the spring or silver soldered on--can you tell?  How far down can it be set--weight wise?

Give me a bit of time, and I'll come up with a side pic - but the 'arm' is integral to the spring.  Weight-wise, I'd have to go by feel, but I'd guess around 100-150 grams - maybe 200 tops.  As I am used to a direct trigger, more than light enough for me!
One thing though - I really need to tighten down the spring, or I get AD's - which probably means that I will need to recut the sear in the long run, as it presumably is only held by spring pressure...

that double spring and lever arm must be a pretty fancy little bit of metal work.  the rest does not look overly complex.

don't know, won't debate about the aesthetics,  but its said "beauty is as Beauty does".   At the 22 shoot at EG this weekend we had 34 or 35 shooter,  my list is out inth van and I haven't brought that case in yet,  but as I recall the number of Martinis---almost all BSA's or variant---outnumbered the TOTAL of all the other guns listed on the registrtion sheets.   And again as I recall, most of the guys taking home money, took it with martinis.
