Altavista, or more closely Hurt, VA is the site of the Brushy Mtn Club. Although it is primarily a clay sports club, hosting both Skeet and Sporting Clays tourneys regularly, it is a fairly large club in both acreage and membership and it has a nice new R&P range with 12 covered firing points, concrete benches, and berms spaced out to 300 yds. I'd like to try to get some single shooting going there, and the leadership is amenable.
Bedford has a smaller club that is primarily a pistol club with the various action type disciplines being the most frequently run. They have a downhill 100 yd range and are contemplating a push out to the proper 200 but only with a limited number of firing points. Their bench situation is pretty poor and they only have 3-4 of those covered. They would entertain a small schuetzen match, but the range would probably be a pretty poor facility for it.
I am a member of both clubs, each for its own purposes, and Boats, please drop me a PM or send me a real e-mail and let me know whether my membership and participation in the club you mention would also be a possibility. You can't be in too many shooting clubs!!

PS to FITZ: Stop making lists and get yourself on down here. We've got a few spaces left on our Yankee immigrant quota but they're filling up fast with those $^#$@^&* undesirable liberals!

We could really use a few more like yourself to help balance things out!
