Still Drooling

If you are the kind of person whose first comment (or second0 is, "I bet that would hurt", read no further! you wouldn't get it.

As usual there were many things at Etna Green to drool over but the one that caught my eye was a R.B. Rodda .500 BPE hammer double rifle. I near dehydrated drooling over that thing. I hope none got on it. Alas, I had to go home without it.

Tom Schiffer was selling it for a friend, last I saw it was still available at a lower asking price.  very nice piece at that,  DonH was not the only one dripping on it.

I often wish I could find a way for lod guns to talk. The stories they could tell! It is my understanding that R.B. Rodda guns were made in Calcutta for Brit officers and no doubt maharajahs too. This particular piece was no "gun case queen" but a campaigned veteran with no doubt lots of history.

Don: My understanding is that the Roddas were well thought of then and now. Were you able to examine the bores?
