ceramic media

I used ceramic media in my Thumbler's tumbler to clean 32-40 Everlasting cases...the same size media I use to clean 45-70 cases.  It was a huge mistake.  It took me hours to get all the ceramic pieces wedged inside the 32-40 cases out.

Is there a ceramic media available that is sized to use with 32-40 cases?  I will simply leave my cases dark (I shoot black powder) rather than go through that again.

Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem when I reviewed the ceramic media.  I would suggest that you might want to try the chemical cleaner that I mentioned in a review about a year ago.  I'll look it up if you can't find it.  I found that if I use corncob media in a vibratory tumbler AFTER I clean the brass chemically, I get pretty good results.  YMMV!

Dave Maurer (Shooter 2) now sells a smaller sized ceramic media for bottle necked cases. (517) 669-9801.

FWIW,
I now use an ultrasonic cleaner, with a weak citric acid/detergent solution - works quite well, even on BP cases.  No need to handle cases individually, and the cases are clean inside out.  Afterwards a rinse, 10 mins in a tumbler with walnut media (to dry) - finished.

I use plain Walnut media and it cleans BP case perfectly. Takes some time but the finish is as good as it could be.   32/40 works as well as larger cases I do wash them first in a jug with some dishwashing soap and vinegar.  A the range and soon after they have been fired drop them into a plastic bottle and shake,  I don't wash each one seperatly.
