I just spoke to him and I will be able to borrow an original Pope lubricator. If you can wait a week when I get back from KC, I'll be able to take some pictures of it.

Any chance he didn't make it back from K.C. ?     Undecided   Maybe he just needs new batteries for the camera ?     Roll Eyes    Much of life's roads are paved with good intentions .  Any who, .   .   .   ., maybe next time.   Wink       Wink     Gotta go fry those other fish !

Gentlemen we talked some about the topic of lube pumps some eight (8) years ago and it quite a civil environment.

Chuck did an excellent job on his lube pump and I recalled that we gave him accolades for a job "well done".

In the elapse of eight (8) years, new people have come on-board and some of those new comers are pretty rude and ugly as has been pointed out today by an honest gentleman who was right on point.

It's immaterial to me if I sell my pump or keep it and then give it away to some deserving shooter.  I can afford to donate it if I should learn of someone who will use it and appreciate the historical value of a near reproduction of what Mr. Harry M.Pope thought was the correct way to solve the problem of lubing bullets at the shooting bench.

Are there any blueprints on a lube pump?

I have a few thoughts on making lube pumps --   I have a couple of Charlie Dell's pumps, and also use a STAR lubricator, but it is nice to have an ad hoc pump ready to go for a given bullet and lube.   Mostly they are pretty conventional -- soldered up out of brass, mostly.  I use only O-rings for seals around the pistons and dies and have never had a problem.  I have tried cup-type seals, and haven't been pleased.  O-rings are easier to do and work fine.   Another thing is that I don't use a cross-handle to turn the screw, but rather fit a knob from a hose faucet, as you can then grab it with your wrist in any position.   Nor use a fine-thread screw that takes too many turns.   I bore the lubing die bodies to fit the bullet, and drill 3-4 feed holes at each lube groove position, then polish with a little 0000 steel wool wrapped around a bore brush.   I don't generally use a guide for the ejector rod, but just make it out of Delrin or brass, about bullet diameter.  There is usually enough lube sticking around to keep it from falling out during use.
Probably if you are handy enough to make a lube pump like this, you don't need any blueprints.

I have dimensioned layout type drawings of the lube pump shown on page 2. Just enough information for me to build it. Be aware it is not like the original or those made by anyone else, but seems to work pretty well. Would need a E-mail address to send them.

I am in full agreement with you.  Some of these folks make it all up as they go along and the end result is a "Clobbered Together whatever" much like a Rube Goldberg, which doesn't seem to bother them since they're so full of themselves.

If you scroll up you will find Chuck's work, which is awfully nice and professionally done, and it would be an edition that you could be proud to own and use in front of other professional competitors the likes of which H. M. Pope associated with.

Good luck bpsmoke !
