What are the real differences if any in these 2 cartridges performance wise  I am getting a rolling block made up and wanted to know if there was any advantage in one over the other . Getting a rifle for mostly hunting/silhouette.What is the bullet weight and twist that is recommended for this caliber

My best loading so far for my .50/90 Shiloh is 110gr of Goex Fg pushing a 650gr Paul Jones Creedmoor bullet. Shoots very well. I personally have no desire for a .50 calibre case that will hold any more gunpowder that my .50/90 cases. I've not shot it over my chronograph yet though, so I don't know what velocity I'm getting. That is my next project.

quisto56,

For silhouette, or hunting most anything in the north american continent, something like a 40-65 or 45-70 would do you a fine job, and be way more fun to shoot. In comfort and accuracy.
