Joe,

The WSU is the animal of Steve Garbe who runs it well.

In the union various kinds of shooting are promoated and compitions held.

For example, my first contact with the outfit was the Winter 22RF Offhand Postal Match that was organized and completed in exceeent order for participents from coast-to-coast and overseas.

I know there is much more to the organization and other members will make theri contibutions to your question.

Good morning,
Forrest

We are members here in Iowa.  We shoot one WSU match every other Saturday, along with all the other matches.

Joe

In the US We have 3 groups shooting Schuetzen. Most people belong to one or two.  In my opinion multiple affilations are not a bad thing. Since I live in the East most matches are ASSRA and thats what I belong to. If I lived in the Southwest ISSA seems to hold most competitons. WSU is more Wyoming and Black powder oriented. There are some local matches that do not affilate with any and I have enjoyed them too. I have also shot Schuetzen outside the country with local rules and conditons. Out of the USA most are Air gun matches.

This summer I plan to try ISSA and WSA both.  I have found when traveling most Schuetzen matches very open to outsiders and the slight differences in rules are no problem.

This is in contrast to NRA matches that are run with a single set of rules and sanctioned by one national body. Thats not a bad thing either and probably the main reason BPC Sillouette and Mid/Long range have developed well.
