After Charlie's passing, I remained several days to aid Pappas and Joan in the breaking down of housekeeping. As the shop was being dismantled I recovered the shop copy of the second edition of his book. For those familiar with the shop it was on top of the gun cabinet beside the door where the rail gun had resided. It was in a pile of other reference books he kept in the shop. Somewhat torn and tattered from use and abuse it is now in my possession with the blessing of the executors of his estate, John and Joan. I say all this to arrive at this; the book will be donated to the ASSRA Spring Auction. It is in fact his personal shop copy of the second edition. Proper provenance will be recorded in and with the book. I would think that it will provide quite an addition to any collection of rifles and/or literature. One will hope that someone will appreciate the opportunity to own a significant piece of history. There's only one of these........I think Charlie would modestly insist that it wasn't worth any more than the others ......He would probably insist on trading you a new one for it......but then he would be wrong wouldn't he.
