the 1st real issue of 2006 (remember we are running behind still) is one I hope to make somewhat featuring 22rf topics, sort of as a build-up to the first 22rf only event of the season.
(It HAS to be a better than the Spring .22 shoot we had last year.  I'm still looking for a "I survived the Spring 22 shoot at Etna Green" tee shirt)

anyone who has ideas or articles to contribute on the 22 side of the single shot game is more than welcome to participate. Some topics that come to mind:
historic .22 gallery rifles?
.22 gallery shooters (there were some great ones but they are pretty well overlooked by most midwestern schuetzen types)
the early ss action based 3-position rifles.
200 yard shooting with .22s
tuning for accuracy with the 22 single shots
ammo evaluation and testing for beginners
I'm sure you guys can think of more
and then 'gin up some articles

A couple of notes re: .22 rimfire. I believe Steve Garbe shot a 2173 this year during the Hudson Challenge. 200 yards of course. Though at time a 200 yd. rimfire category had not been established by ASSRA, the late Buddy Street shot a numbe of sub m.o groups at 200 with a Dorn-converted Ballad, fine ammo, many wind flags, and infinite patience. Maybe somebody from the old Columbia Schuetzen Verein has those records.
