Rudi Prusok, ASSRA Archives

I have a few things to say about Rudi Prusok, our ASSRA Archives Person. It’s hard enough to run any organization…and to run one that has gone as long as the ASSRA is nothing more then a miracle. It’s like a marriage, many get married yet the percentage of those that last are not all that high. Organizations like the ASSRA that are mostly volunteer ran have many things that they must have carried out, that are done with the help of those volunteers. I don’t know the other volunteers, yet I can say with certainty that Rudi has been of great help, he’s prompt on getting what you need to you with the utmost of professionalism. He gives the ASSRA a high level of respect and honor. He cares about all of us, and puts that little extra into what he does. I know from my own past that those that do things for others with out regard for themselves often do not get the Kudos or that special pat on the back saying thank you for all your time and work. I do not know-how many years Rudi has been doing this, but he’s doing a great job. Keep up the great work Rudi. Please understand, I've never met Rudi and I do not know him personally. Just want to say thanks to Rudi on this forum.  Smiley

Paul,
We should all thank Rudi publicly.  Most know how valuable he has been but I agree, I don't think he has been thanked enough.

I've been getting archive material from Rudi since the late '80s and he's always been prompt, accurate and courteous to a fault. May we all strive to be more like him!
Hooray & kudos, Joe

My respect, admiration and fondness for Rudi are a matter of public record, but I would like to add my two cents' worth here as well.  For many years his editorship of the Journal made him the "face" of ASSRA...presidents and other officers came and went, but the person that everyone "knew" in ASSRA was Rudi.  The thing is, he was and is a great person to have people focus on as a representative of ASSRA, always the gentleman and always an enthusiastic supporter of our association and the whole range of things it represents.  As our archivist, he oversees THE world's preeminent collection of information about single shot rifles and much related material as well and does so very well with little recognition, but much appreciation from those of us who use it.  If you are reading this, Rudi, thanks yet again for all you do.

I have to add my thanks to Rudi as well, as the result of an Email enquiry to him, I got a big bunch of photocopied documents regarding the Sharps Borchardt from him.

This was delivered by Air Mail to the U/K. I have just sent him a letter containing the payment, also via Air Mail.

There's not many who would supply the goods required, before cashing a cheque these days, but Rudi is one who does.

This man's a credit to the human race, he has faith in his fellow man. There's not a lot of them left these days.

I doff my hat to you Sir,

Harry Eales. An English Rifleman.

Over twenty-five years ago when I first started doing in-depth research I turned to the NRA who I learned right away knew next to nothing about shooting history or they were just not set up to share what they did know. Rudi has been the one person I could turn to with research questions and get help from.   Rudi was (is) a part of the Rifled Arms Historical Association and the organization that I have left my research papers to. I’m now not sure if they are going to be around or not.  When Rudi leaves I’m worried about what will happen to the archives and the wiliness of the ASSRA to share them.

Rudi certainly stands above the rest and I owe him much.  Michael Petrov
