spud;
           I highly recommend TJ's liners, one of my best shooting rifles has a TJ liner.  He now gets about $3.45 an inch but you can have about any length needed.  leadball

Thanks for the info. I'll go ahead and order some liners. Do you have a recent contact email or mailing address for TJ'S handy? Spud

if you want to talk to someone with loads of experience with relining ang using some of t.j.'s liners, contact bob hoyt of "the freischutz shop" in fairfield , pennsylvania..[just outside of gettysburg]. his main forte is civil war musket relining but is also a b.p. cartridge competetor....a good source of hands on info.....blue

I used a TJ liner to make a 38 extra long for the fun of it. It is very accurate considering all of the things that could have gone wrong in that project. If Hoyt uses TJ's they seem to be accurate. I have been to Hoyts shop to pick up my cousins ( KKT313) Rolling Block he made a barrel for, It's a neat place and will get your juices flowin'! A guy on my Musket team sells muskets with only Hoyt barrels and they are getting good feedback.
I have an old ugly Ballard Pacific I want to make shoot, I have been trying to decide between a TJ liner or Hoyt relining, It's a tough choice. Good Shootin'!

MerwinBray,
I asked about TJ's liners because I also have a Ballard Pacific that desperately needs a new bore. Liners are impossible to obtain here (Australia) and Mike Sayers name came up when I started asking around. Apparently he has supplied liners to some of the boys in the past - nothing but good reports about his product. Anyway there should be one of his .40 liners heading my way soon. I'm having a .40-63 chambering reamer made up locally by one of our better gunsmiths, wanted to stick with the original chambering.
