Breech Seating BNs ?

I've been reading the past post on breech-seating and was curious if you could breech-seat with a bottleneck cart. like the .45-75 ? I would suspect a straight cart. would be better for this technique.

Subsailor,

  Interesting idea!

Why not? I don't know anyone who does it but I can't see any reason why you couldn't. If the rifle is throated to take a breech seated bullet and the action would allow you to, give it a try and let us know how it comes out.

It's not much of a bottleneck, but I'm breech seating my 30-20 (.308" 32-20) with no problems.

They are no more of a problem than a straight case- I have made seaters for 30-30 and 30-06, also 30/357 BN.

Thanks for the info. I am having a repro Borchardt action that I have had for some time finished in .45-75 and I may just consider this. Its only going to be for Mid & Long range, so plenty of time to Breech Seat. Now my interest is peaked. Thanks again.
