It is my understanding that Ballard has cancelled making the R.B.     FWIW,   Ken

I have an RB on order with Lone Star.  They haven't answered e-mail in over 2 months, so I need to phone to see what's up.  Ballard still shows the RB on their site.  When I visited them last year, no RB's from them had yet been finished.

Might be a good idea to call and check, I could have been misinformed.   Ken

I just talked with Lone Star by phone.  (The castings for their new No. 7 offering aren't ready yet.)  I visited his shop before placing my order, and I liked the rifles he had for show.

Ken is right: call Ballard to verify the RB is still available from them.  Web sites are often out of date.  They were offering Hepburns last year on their site, but these are now back on their own site, at DZ Arms.

The castings for the #7 are made by Rodney Storie. He owns the molds and has the castings done in Ark.   You can also buy them directly from Rodney.    Ken

I asked Dave H. by e-mail if he was using Storie's casting, but got no reply.  (I had learned Storie offered them from information you provided on these forums.)  I didn't ask him directly yesterday.

The story fits, though, for it has been mentioned Storie is improving/reworking many of the castings he offers, and Lone Star is awaiting an improved run of castings.  Dave seemed a bit pessimistic yesterday.  There's always a No. 5 if the No. 7 doesn't work out...
