II have a Ruger #3 with custom wood (originally chambered in .22 Hornet and rechambered before I got it, to .221 Fireball). I also have a Contender pistol with a 10" heavy barrel in .221 Fireball. My original desire was to build accurate small game loads (I used to LOVE squirrel hunting).  I have a rather large supply of linotype so my first alloy was straight linotype. Dale53

Thanks for THIS post.  I have an XP-100 rifle in .221 and was wondering about using cast.  I also have lots of Linotype and the 225415 and a can of Unique.  The Douglas XX barrel has a 1:16 twist, which is not very good on the heavy "j" boolets, perhaps better with cast.
